T-Ball Opening Day

Kaleb is playing t-ball this year, and the season is officially underway. He has been talking about it for a while and could barely contain his excitement leading up to his first practice and game.

Here is his official picture:

Pre-Season Baseball 2013

Julian is playing on a new baseball team this year, and he has been excited to get the season going. They have been practicing indoors since February, and finally got the chance to practice outside last week. This was the first time he has got to use a pitching machine and there were mixed results.

While he didn't do too bad starting off, it didn't end too well. He swung at an inside pitch and here were the results.

The swelling has gone down now and he can bend it better, and it didn't deter him from playing in their first scrimmage on Saturday. He stopped a few ground balls that came his way, and didn't hesitate to get back up in the batter's box.

Here's hoping for a great season this spring!

Jr. Kaws Basketball

Today was the first Jr. Kaws basketball game of the season. Julian's team played really well, and did a good job running their play on offense and being tough on defense. There were not a lot of baskets made, but the boys looked like they were having a good time and stayed focused.

Here are a few glimpses into the game:

What a GORGEOUS fall weekend!

I love the fall. What more can you ask for: weather in the low 70's, cloudy skies, windows open and fun times with friends and family. This weekend was just awesome, I sure hope this fall weather sticks around for a long time.

This is the lovely view out of my dining room windows and off the back deck. The trees are just starting to change colors, which makes these views even better!

I started my weekend off running my first 5K with my friend Courtney. Our time wasn't too bad, and we didn't finish last (which was the ultimate goal), but I was a little disappointed in the amount of walking I needed to do. I thought for sure I would be able to run a lot longer stretches than I was able to. Oh well, I guess that means I just need to keep trying.

Amost done with the first mile.

Getting ready to cross the finish line.

The boys got a basketball goal this weekend from a friend who didn't need theirs anymore. They have been anxiously awaiting their chance to get out and test it out, once it warmed up a little on Sunday they were out the door.

Here are a couple of hints as to what the next project on my list is. I can't wait to get this one done and show you all the finished product.

Here's to gorgeous weather that gets you up and moving with your friends and family!

Basketball Camp 2012

Julian attended the Jeff Hawkins basketball camp this summer and had a blast! They worked on all the basketball fundamentals:

Dribbling

Shooting

Passing

Kaleb even got in on the action and worked on his dribbling and passing skills on the sidelines, he can't wait to have his chance to attend camp next summer.

Here's wishing you time to hone your skills and enjoy a game or two with friends.

Batter up!

Julian is playing t-ball this year and Daddy is his coach and they are both having a really fun time.

Kaleb even got to get in on the action. His first game, of course I didn't bring the camera, he got to fill in because we were missing some players. His second game, look I brought the camera this time, he is being a big help and filling in for big brother who had to unfortunately miss the last game of the season.

Julian was a great team player and cheered on his team from the bench. He is sidelined due to a small hairline fracture in his wrist. Hopefully he will be back to his old self here in a couple of weeks.

Here is the team picture after the last game of the season:

Here's wishing you lots of fun and fans cheering for you from the sidelines!

Take us out to the ball game

Back at the beginning of September we took the boys to their very first professional baseball game. We went and watched the Kansas City Royals play the Cleveland Indians (it did not end well for the Royals, but that is the story of their season) and boy did we do it in style. Kevin's company rented a suite for the game, so boys definitely got spoiled for their first experience out at the ball park.
