June Bride

My lovely sister got married a couple of weeks ago out at our parents' house. It was beautiful and was a labor of love for the entire family. Everyone had a hand in some part of the preparation for the festivities. My contribution was making her Pinterest inspired barn board signs come to life.

These handsome fellas pointing the way were also "Ring Security" later that day.

We spent some time the morning of the wedding cooling off from the heat and humidity and creating our bouquets. We went a couple of days before the wedding and just bought some of the market bunches of flowers and then made the bouquets ourselves. I think they turned out quite nicely if I do say so myself!

We also made all of the table centerpieces from bottles and other items that mom has collected over the years. The mailbox on the gift table was used to hold cards and used to belong to our grandparents. It fit nicely with the overall look of the reception and was another nice way to include family momentos.

The fans came in very handy as the night went on!
Crayons and paper to keep the little ones entertained

We offered a basket of cards, dominos and checkers for those who wanted to play a game or two. We also found a couple of fiber optic spools at the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore that came in handy. We topped them with chalkboard paint and set out little buckets of chalk on top.

Basketball Camp 2012

Julian attended the Jeff Hawkins basketball camp this summer and had a blast! They worked on all the basketball fundamentals:

Dribbling

Shooting

Passing

Kaleb even got in on the action and worked on his dribbling and passing skills on the sidelines, he can't wait to have his chance to attend camp next summer.

Here's wishing you time to hone your skills and enjoy a game or two with friends.

I present to you the Class of 2024!

Julian is officially a Kindergarten graduate!

Here's to the class of 2024, may you reach all your goals and never stop learning!

Tap, tap, tap

Is anyone there? We have been super busy around here this last month and it is showing no signs of slowing down. I am going to work on getting the blog all caught up here in the next few days.

Consider yourself warned, you are about to be inundated with posts.

Thanks for sticking around and I hope you enjoy the posts that I have coming up.

Batter up!

Julian is playing t-ball this year and Daddy is his coach and they are both having a really fun time.

Kaleb even got to get in on the action. His first game, of course I didn't bring the camera, he got to fill in because we were missing some players. His second game, look I brought the camera this time, he is being a big help and filling in for big brother who had to unfortunately miss the last game of the season.

Julian was a great team player and cheered on his team from the bench. He is sidelined due to a small hairline fracture in his wrist. Hopefully he will be back to his old self here in a couple of weeks.

Here is the team picture after the last game of the season:

Here's wishing you lots of fun and fans cheering for you from the sidelines!

Just some pretty pictures...

Here are some pretty pictures of a few of the flowers in my flower bed right now. Enjoy!

Here's wishing you time to stop and admire the beauty around you!

Another Pinterest Project Done

We have finally completed another Pinterest inspired project, our pallet table. The original idea (found here) used full sized pallets, we opted for the smaller ones and I think it fits our space better. Kevin and my dad worked together on this one and I stained it the same color as the deck. I think it turned out nicely and is a great addition to the patio area.

Here's to cozying up outside and enjoying those long summer nights with the ones you love.
